On October 18, 2023, at the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician A.Kuatbekov, a working meeting was held between the IT community of the third metropolis (regional representative of Astana Hub: Shymkent IT Hub, IT Step Academy, E-Tech Hub) with the teaching staff and IT-students of the department «Informatics and Mathematics», by employees of the Faculty of Natural-Engineering.
Vice-Rector for Digitalization Yessenov M.K. delivered a welcoming speech and recalled the september Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which pointed out the increased relevance of issues of digitalization and innovation, turning Kazakhstan into an IT country; about the relevance of cooperation with leading international companies and universities and the use of successful foreign experience; on the need for effective measures to support private initiatives to create innovative infrastructure – business incubators, engineering and technology Hubs, commercialization centers, technology parks and design bureaus.
The meeting was moderated by the chief researcher E-Tech Hub PhD Bibol Zhakipbayev, who introduced the participants to the meeting program.
Regional manager of Shymkent IT Hub Aknur Praliyeva spoke in full about the activities of the Hub; that Shymkent IT Hub participants will be provided with assistance in creating effective business processes, scaling, meeting like-minded people, and preparing to attract investments.
The director of the IT Step Academy branch, Madiyar Dilda, informed the meeting participants about the company’s activities and about free courses from Tech Orda (a program aimed at developing human capital in the IT field and provides funding in the amount of up to 600 000 tenge for training individuals for the purpose of training of IT specialists).
Web-developer in Python Zhuldyz Aidarkulova demonstrated the fundamental capabilities of the Python language and urged the meeting participants not to stop there and to be aware of trends and innovations in the field of IT education.
It should be noted that the meeting took place within the framework of agreements on mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of digitalization at Astana Digital Bridge 2023.
