March 5-6, 2024 Vice-Rector for Digitalization of the Peoples’ Friendship University named after Academician A. Kuatbekov, Chief Digital Officer M.K. Yessenov took part in the seminar «Innovative strategy of teaching and learning: methods, technologies and tools», organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan on the basis of Astana IT University.
The participants of this seminar were the management staff of Kazakhstani universities in the pedagogical field and the National Team Higher Education Reforming Experts (HERE).
The seminar began with a greeting from G.S. Dzharassova – Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Kestutis Jankauskas – Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan; S.M. Omirbayev – Rector of Astana IT University.
The dialogue between the speakers and seminar participants was very active. For example, Ian Böhm (Head of the Department of Educational Sciences at the Upper Austrian University of Education) spoke about teaching and learning strategies in the modern global context; on teaching and learning: theoretical reinsurance; about challenges and opportunities in innovative teaching and learning strategies using the example of a specific university; about the practical part: analysis of successful innovative teaching and learning strategies using the example of a specific university.
Narbekova B.M. – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay demonstrated the modern model of a teacher in the context of Kazakhstan. With Andryushchenko O.K. – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan discussed the teaching strategy in the context of the formation of interdisciplinary competencies of teachers. Kudysheva A.A. – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical University spoke about the strategy for transforming higher education: equality, inclusion and social impact. Kanai G.A. – Rector of the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University own case was very relevant on the topic: «Development of leadership of future teachers»” Chukurov A.E. – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov showed a case on improving pedagogical mentoring and career support for graduates of pedagogical specialties: the role of Upgrade centers. We talked about the Digital (un)reality of the higher education system with D.M. Abdrasheva – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata.
Overall, the seminar was useful and full of life hacks.
In addition, Vice-Rector for Digitalization Maksat Yessenov held a number of business meetings with colleagues within the framework of the seminar, and during the meeting a fundamental agreement and agreement was obtained on issues of mutually beneficial academic cooperation in the field of digitalization in higher education.
