Creative Industry of Shymkent Forum 2023

On December 14, 2023, the “Creative Industry of Shymkent” forum was held in Shymkent. The forum creates an atmosphere for the future of the creative industry of Kazakhstan, which is impossible without the IT-community.

Delegation of digital IT-officers from the Peoples’ Friendship University named after A.Kuatbekov: Maksat Yessenov – Vice-Rector for Digitalization and Bibol Zhakipbayev – Chief Researcher E-Tech Hub, PhD, Associate Professor took an active part in the opening of the forum, held networking sessions with potential IT-partners on issues of collaboration and integration of their IT-products and the further development of joint IT-projects.

We received a huge exchange of experience, networking with opinion leaders and introducing new ideas into projects. Daniyar Amanaliev, co-founder of the largest network of coworking spaces in Central Asia, a member of the international council at the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Center and business director of the ololo group of companies (Kyrgyzstan), spoke about the right approach and concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the department of tourism, external relations and creative industry of the city Shymkent.

It should be noted that in his September Address, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan pointed out the relevance of the creative industry, which covers the field of information technology, education, media, cinema, music, and design. It is important to create conditions so that talented and creative citizens can fully realize their creative potential. I set the task, in close coordination with the real sector, on the basis of regional universities, to build an integral innovation ecosystem in all regional centers. The Astana Hub experience should be scaled widely. In the modern world, it is “creative production”, based on the creative potential and intellectual capital of citizens, that serves as a source for the development of a truly inclusive economy. Moreover, the creative economy is becoming the driving force behind the development of large cities, attracting talented, creative people. We must create all conditions for the large-scale development of the creative economy in our country. Including legal instruments to protect intellectual property. This is a fundamentally important point. Intellectual property is the same property as equipment or technology. I consider it necessary to develop a separate package of measures to support “creatives”.
